Hostplus, a leading Australian superannuation fund, has announced the extension of its group insurance partnership with MetLife Australia until June 2028.
This strategic move aims to enhance the insurance benefits available to Hostplus members, reflecting the fund's commitment to providing comprehensive and cost-effective coverage.

Since the inception of their partnership in 2013, Hostplus and MetLife have collaborated to offer a range of insurance products, including Death, Total and Permanent Disablement (TPD), and Income Protection cover. The extension of this partnership is set to unlock new opportunities to elevate servicing models across claims and underwriting, ultimately delivering stronger outcomes for Hostplus members.

Hostplus CEO David Elia highlighted the significance of this extension, stating that it provides a pathway to further strengthen collaboration and deliver an innovative and enhanced offering to members. The benefits of the partnership are already being felt through lower premiums, improved insurance terms, and a more personalised claims experience.

Currently, Hostplus provides more than 865,000 members with insurance coverage through its partnership with MetLife. The extended agreement is expected to build upon this foundation, ensuring that members continue to receive high-quality insurance products tailored to their needs.

For members, this extension signifies a continued commitment to providing robust insurance solutions that offer financial security and peace of mind. It also underscores the importance of reviewing and understanding the insurance options available within their superannuation fund to ensure they align with individual circumstances and needs.

As the insurance landscape evolves, partnerships like that between Hostplus and MetLife play a crucial role in adapting to changing member requirements and delivering value-driven solutions. Members are encouraged to stay informed about any forthcoming enhancements to their insurance benefits resulting from this extended partnership.
